tickets are sold at the same price as those sold in Korea.

Q.

Is there any ticket discounts for hosting city residents?

Content Open/Close
A.

Unfortunately there is no admission discount based on the place of residence. However, tickets not sold during the online ticket sales period will be sold at the on-site box office. And we believe those residing at hosting city will have easier accessibility to the tickets. The residents will enjoy the benefit of being able to enjoy the festive atmosphere of the events and competitions in the hosting city than in other cities.

Q.

Why is the ticket price for opening ceremony higher than the regular competitions?

Content Open/Close
A.

As the opening ceremony will be held at the world-class level where the entire historical, natural and cultural competitive edge of the hosting nation and city are assembled to be shared by not only hosting nationals but also all the people around the globe. We have set the price for each grade differently as we expect that S grade tickets would mainly sold by FINA family, sponsor owner, directors of related organization and partner company owners. A grade tickets are expected to be sold to key employees of organizations and companies and B grade is expected to be sold to general audience.

    - Comparing the ticket price to that of recently held Incheon Asian Games Opening Ceremony as well as to the tickets for the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games, it is priced at a very low level.

A.

Water polo, as a traditional major European sporting event, has recently gained its popularity also in Korea, China and Japan and is expected to show strong ticket power from overseas spectators. As a reference, the tickets for water polo game during previous championships held in Budapest Hungary were sold widely in neighboring European countries.

In addition, it is expected to gain more attention and interest from audiences as we would make our best efforts to compose a single team of both south and north Korea before the actual competition begins. As classified as a popular sport, the price is set higher than other events.

A.

FINA World Aquatics Championships is a popular sport event that is held for the first time in Korea as a swimming event and has the second highest gold medals and dividend following the athletics of the summer Olympic Games. It is indeed a mega-sized once-in-a-lifetime sporting event held in Korea

Comparing with the ticket price for many concerts or large-scale sports event held in Korea, the price of this mega size sporting event is quite reasonable. Also, if there weren’t any expensive tickets to be sold, it will be difficult to offer a variety of customized promotions with the tickets.
